Strange Weather

So last week at this time we were sitting in here freezing. I had the heaters going and blankets on. WELL this week it's 70 degrees and we are having tornado warnings. Yes tornado warnings in January......so strange.
I woke up to a phone call from Jason telling me to unplug everything (computer, tvs) b/c he heard a huge lightning storm was coming....so I did. Then I got up, got alex a bottle and started making pancakes. Then thought...well if it is bad I can't see the weather so I got my police scanner out. First thing I hear is our county is under a tornado warning. Then the sirens go off. So I calmly told Nat to put her shoes on....I got the phones and radio and scanner to the bathroom and grabbed Alex out of his chair (with bottle) and we went to the bathroom to sit. Nat kept saying "this isn't a practice siren this time is it?". I told her no....she started freaking (just like I would have as a kid). I decided to call my mom (2 hours away) so she could check the radar (since everything was unplugged). It had went north of us. A tornado hit about 30 miles northeast of us. It destoryed homes and power lines and killed at least 1 person, others injured.
We really barely got any rain and now at 1:20 the sun is out and it's blue sky...like nothing happened.
SO if this is the weather in January......tornado season is gonna be bad I think!!
